The Vivo X21 and the Redmi 6 Pro have some similar features across the board and in many ways, they are very different. What matters is how they compare against one another.

The Redmi 6 comes in several different versions and it is not officially released in India. However, the price for the base model comes at Rs. 28,450 approximately. The Vivo X21 that was officially released in India a little while ago is being sold for Rs. 35,999.

The Xiaomi model features a notch and a thin bezel, just like the Vivo one. Both Smartphone’s get premium bodies, with the former one featuring a glass and metal build to get wireless charging support. The screen size is 5.84 inches, uses AMOLED technology and has 2280 x 1080 resolutions while the latter has a premium body with a glass-like construction.

Like most of the new launches, the Mi 6 pro too features an AMOLED screen which measures 6.28-inches with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Coming with a resolution of 2280 x 1080, the Vivo X21 boasts of a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio and also comes with an Always-On Display mode.

It was quite obvious from the start that the Redmi 6 pro is the most powerful among the two. It has a Snapdragon 625 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage that cannot be increased, unfortunately. The Vivo X21 in India is being offered with 6GB RAM along with 128GB storage, with a Snapdragon 660 (4 x 2.2GHz Kryo 260 + 4 x 1.8GHz Kryo 260 with Adreno 512 GPU). The storage can be expanded up to 256GB but will take up the single SIM card slot. The Redmi 6 also gets support for expandable storage externally.

Additionally, both the smartphones have a dual-camera setup at the back. The Redmi 6 features a 12 + 5MP combination 1.2um pixel size and f/2.2 aperture with software-powered AI. The secondary lens has an aperture of f/2.4 and 1.0um pixel size. The front-facing camera is a 20MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The Vivo X21 offers a 12 + 5MP dual-camera setup at the back, with the primary 12MP lens having a f/1.8 aperture while the secondary 5MP lens getting a f/2.4 aperture. It also has a 12MP front-facing camera.

The Redmi 6 will be running MIUI 10 with Android Oreo 8.1. The Vivo X21 is no different in custom interfaces because it will run the Funtouch OS 4.0. The former features a 4000mAh battery, while the latter comes with a 3200mAh battery.

To sum up, both are among the best-looking smartphones right now. If you want raw performance, you should obviously go for the Redmi 6. On the other hand, if it is designed that you cherish the most, you can opt for the Vivo X21.
